A studio!
This year, we are really pushing to move our family photography business to a higher level.
Nearly nine years ago, I started the studio from a single bedroom in our 1200 square foot home (I know NOT a big one!). Since then, we've built this studio into a nation (and sometimes world) traveling business, photographing volleyball throughout the US. And, all along, we've been working from one room in our house.
However, this year, I decided to make the leap. I've really wanted a studio space to run the photogrphy business from or years. Since I was a teenager, I have wanted an actual studio to photograph in. I love photographing outdoors, and plan to do so a great deal. However, it's nice to be able to photograph whenever - regardless of heat or cold, rain or shine.
Additionally, this will allow us to expand our portrait and wedding photography - which most people have no idea we do.
Along with the creation of our second full photography booth at tournaments, the move into a studio space is a major shift for our business.
We're all VERY excited about it!
Big news - a second booth!
We're trying something really big this year - we're building a second booth, which I will run, to add tournaments to our calendar.
Years ago, in high school, I started selling photographs by showing small versions in a photo album and selling images to parents and athletes at the high school I was attending. This paid for my photography habit. Later, when I started our studio, I started it in much the same fashion - using film and sharing images in photo albums.
However, we quickly moved to digital capture in 2001 and began the odyssey to create a unique, beautiful and efficient booth. Within a few years, we went from one screen to 50 and we have been operating at that capacity ever since. But it's time to once again expand the business. Our plan is to build a second booth of 50 viewers this season, which we can then staff and use to photograph tournaments which we are usually not able to attend due to scheduling conflicts.
With this additional capacity, there are a number of events in specific we would like to add on to our calendar:

If you are interested in finding out where we will be photographing this season, visit our Event Calendar - we've posted the dates and locations of all of the tournaments we will be photographing.
We are looking to add some additional tournaments, namely: Pacific Northwest Qualifier, Lone Star Classic, Show Me Qualifier, the AAU National Championships and USA Volleyball Junior National Championships. If you would like to see us at any of those tournaments, feel free to pass our name on to the right ears!
